Environmental
Policy

Heriot A.V are aware that our operations have the potential to impact on the environment and, as part of our Sustainability Policy, we are constantly looking at ways to minimise this impact.

In considering the sustainability of the projects on which we work we will:

  • Where practicable, endeavour to ensure that our orders for materials are placed with suppliers as local to the construction site as possible and that where appropriate the materials are delivered in bulk
  • Assess the impact of our activity (and design where appropriate) on environmental matters
  • Where practicable, employ a system of recycling on our construction sites for items such as wood, metal, glass, bricks etc. Seek to re-use within the project if at all possible and ensure any surplus materials are used to facilitate projects within the wider community or taken to our stores for re-use at a later date
  • Seek to minimise the carbon footprint of our projects by encouraging the use of carbon efficient materials within the project where financial and technological considerations permit
  • Involve, consult, and communicate with all parties connected with the project
  • Endeavour to use local tradespeople and suppliers to enhance and involve the local community where financial and technological constraints allow
  • Where appropriate and possible, promote training and employment opportunities for local people within the communities in which we work
  • Provide information to sub-contractors and suppliers in order that they can actively contribute to the delivery of the Company’s sustainability objectives
  • Throughout our activities aim to reduce pollution emissions, reduce waste and disposal to landfill, reduce consumption of energy and water etc
  • Encourage and influence our clients, designers, and supply chain to establish and incorporate energy efficient and sustainable design solutions where possible
  • Keep up to date with relevant technological advances and comply with environmental legislation and relevant codes of practice
